The Colorado National Monument was established federally in 1911. The park itself encompasses more than 20,000 acres of red and orange sandstone cliffs, monoliths, and scenic canyons. It was pioneered by John Otto, who thought of the park as "The Heart of the World."
The Monument, as it's known locally, is considered high desert, with cacti and lizards, but also snowfall and big horn sheep - a unique landscape all its own.
The red rocks of the park change colors depending on the lighting and make a beautiful backdrop for your elopement day.
